Today, I spent over $2,000 on a big flatscreen TV. My dad insisted I let him mount it on the wall instead of paying someone to do it. All seemed fine, until the TV came loose and smashed onto the floor. My dad refuses to accept responsibility, and says I should've had a professional install it instead. FML

Your dad is an immature douchebag. Its like there is some rule that "the parent is always right" even when they're not.

Could homeowners insurance possibly cover that?

idk where u bought ur tv but u got taken t the cleaners. I got a 70 inch under a grand.

if you spent that much on the TV, it doesn't make sense not to pay a professional to mount it. unless you bought it for your dad it's your decision who does the work.

Sorry OP. My parents are just the same. Never the ones to blame but always right lol
