How does turning yourself into a hot dog help cure burns?
I've worked in kitchens for 10 years and burned myself many times. Mustard, no matter how outlandish, does help. So does pickle juice, and tomato juice.
I don't know where you people took your first aid training but as paramedics we are supposed to dress all burns. Depending on severity we use wet or dry dressings. Or a dry on top of a wet dressing if we are worried about heat loss.
Mustard works. I've never used it on a water burn, but with grease burns, it works great. Something I learned from my old jobs in the restaurant business.
From everything I've ever read, mustard seals the burned spot, prevents the heat from escaping and just makes it worse because it stays hot. :|a
