Well that must be an awkward situation :/, good luck OP
Try to let them down gently. Don't bash them for their practices, that's how they were brought up to be. Just remind them that they're not in Kenya anymore and that the laws are different.
Play by their rules and agree to marry all of them.
Its a case of different cultures and all. Just because it is a strange culture doesn't make it illegal. Where i come from, polygamy is legal and accepted. However i personally do not subscribe to that sort of lifestyle. Its also a matter of choice.
They're in the US, not Kenya. A strange culture doesn't make it illegal but being against that country's laws does.
No need to be so condescending. You said yourself that "it might not be "legal"". That was my whole point, not whether or not it would be real.
#86 So much for saying you dont get worked up over nothing, uh?
It's okay. :)
#90 You again man you just don't quit do you, just like an STD. I am still the type of person to just laugh about things like this FML but not things like people actively targeting me personally or being racist, bigots or hateful of others cultures. I am a very laid back person but even I have my limits as I'm sure we all do.
Yes that's called polyandry.
In China and a few other countries, yes... There is a shortage of women in China to the tune of 50 million (1/7 the population of the entire USA!) and so it's becoming the norm in rural villages for brothers to have a single wife among them. In some Muslim countries, five wives is acceptable. In some of the offshoot "Mormon" groups in the US (not to be confused with the greater Mormon religion which is 1 wife, 1 husband) multiple wives is accepted. Just depends on where and who.
For some reason I first read this thinking you were a man. Makes more sense the second time around..
Monogamy is not a requirement there so Stop being so judgemental and just say no. They will get the message eventually
Some men don't get the message. Some men think that all you need to do is keep being persistent no matter how many times a woman tells them no, and that eventually she will give in. And It's not a matter of being judgmental if they know OP doesn't believe in doing that and they still constantly proposition her. Not to mention it's not even legal in US so they'd most likely be expecting her to move to Kenya should she say yes.
Talk to your wife and see if she's ok with it lol
I'm Kenyan and I've never met anyone with more than one wife. I bet they're joking and just laugh it off, when you get to know us, we're quite the comedians?

well thats officially ****** up. maybe go to your boss about this? or HR?
I would tell you to run away, but no matter how far or fast you run, they'll probably still catch up to you.
