Today, I submitted my 5000 word assignment. When I got home, my mother asked if I'd checked it through one more time like she always warned me to do. I hadn't, therefore hadn't noticed the paragraph on page 11 that she'd written, telling me to pay attention to the small details. FML

Omg who in the world would do such a thing... I would give my mom a sound tounge lashing if she ever tried to do something on that scale. Its your work, not hers. I say you walk around correcting her work for the next month, see how she likes it

If you're old enough to be issued a 5000 word assignment, aren't you also old enough to do it without mum helping?

I don't see how people say this is a YDI. She said that her mom told her to double check it again, implying she already checked her work once, if not several times. After I finish and double check something, I shouldn't have to reread it to make sure my mom didn't tamper with it. Also, her mom asked her about checking it after the fact, giving her no chance to correct the vandalism her mom did. Her mom acted like a complete bitch who cared about nothing but setting her up for failure.

Well, on the bright side, that's one less "my roommate/ex-girlfriend/kid brother sabotaged my resume" FML for the future.

This is not a YDI AT ALL. If the OP already checked it once why does supermom have to type a paragraph, instead of just TELLING the op, and **** the whole report up?

that means the OP's mom doesnt respect her son enough to keep her from going through his stuff. also, it is the OP's fault for not reading through it, not even skimming through it

You should've had the sense to check it one more time with a comment like that. It sucks to have such a nasty witch for a mother though.

why is your mom checking your hw? perhaps get a flash drive to keep your work away from the proofread nazi

hahah that sucks, but you have to admit it was smart thinking of your mum...or she knows you too well, lol
