Im pretty young and have to disagree with all the comments. I got it on my first try, it doesnt hurt and if your using the plastic applicator ones, you can barley feel them.

That's ok. I know how you feel. My obgyn said tampons would help with my problem of always thinking I bled through the pad. It took me 9 or 10 tries to get it.

When I first got my period, I was terrified of using tampons. My mom had a box of the tiny ones somewhere around the house, so I would just keep going back into the bathroom to try to put one in. Freaked me out like nothing else, hurt, and then was just really freaking uncomfortable for the first few times, but eventually I figured it out. It's not that unusual for girls to feel that way.

thats sucks when i first got my period i went straight to tampons and i never use a pad i think there so uncomfertable. It seriously wasnt as bad as i thought it would be using a tampon
