Today, I told my parents I wanted to try modelling. I decided that since I have such a low self-esteem, that it might benefit me, and make me feel better about myself and how I look. The first thing out of my dad's mouth was, "What? Why? You're ugly." Thanks dad. FML

Today, I was sitting in my room when my dad walked in to talk. He said I'm not the son he'd hoped for, and that he'd been let down as a father. He said I should change the way I am so that he could love me more. It was the longest conversation I've had with my dad in years. FML

I have not spoken to my abusive father in 20 years, and I'm a better person for it! Don't stay in touch just because society thinks it's "right". They don't know your situation, and people who don't have dysfunctional parents have a hard time understanding. Just avoid him from here on out. He sounds like a huge jerk.
