Today I got a text reminding me that Mother's Day is tomorrow. My mom is dead. FML a little more appropriate?

Can someone tell me how loving your mom whether they are deceased or alive is commercialized? Because, I'm running out of ideas. If anything, they went through 9 months of carrying you in their womb just to see you have a good life..

My mom also passed away last year and I can honestly say that it would piss me off a little. If it had happened a long time ago I would appreciate the reminder like some of these comments were saying (remember to go to the grave). But with a holiday that's already commercialized so much, the guy probably didn't need yet another reminder that he can't celebrate it the same way everyone else can. Thoughtless on your part as well as a douche move.

you deserve that for texting everyone in your phone to remind them about mother's day. mind your business. that's the most unnecessary and annoying thing you could have ever done.

I don't think it's that big a deal. My father passed away and when someone says something similar to that they obviously don't mean it maliciously and they feel awful for doing it.
