Today, at the restaurant I work at, I gave a man back his change and told him to enjoy the sunny day. He replied by dramatically saying that the sun was his mortal enemy. Thinking he was joking, I asked him if he was a vampire. Turns out he has skin cancer. FML

Today, it's hot and sunny, and a customer asked me how I was, I responded by saying "It's a hot sunny day. Who doesn't love the sun?" He responded by telling me he had just had three melanomas cut out. I guess I did find someone who doesn't like the sun. FML

I've heard that joke a million times before. I personally don't think it's offensive, and some people show their sympathy and support by making jokes to cheer you up. Sounds like a nice guy with a good sense of humor, give him a chance

That's a legitimate question. =) Well, not really. He was probably just trying to make light of a serious situation. When I told my boyfriend about my battle with breast cancer and the plastic surgery I had done so that I wouldn't feel deformed after the biopsy, he was sympathetic but still managed to make cracks about my real breast versus my breast that's only real on the outside.
