Today, I told my boyfriend about my foot phobia. To help me "get over it", he took his socks off, pinned me down, and rubbed his foot against my face until I started sobbing. FML

Maybe he wanted to help by trying the cue exposure therapy?

And if you hesitated to have sex with him, he would feel obligated to rape you so that you "get over it", I'm guessing? Jerks like that need to be dumped immediately. Only if they are immediately faced with the consequences of their callousness they will ever learn some basic human decency.

OP's BF: *shoves his foot up OP's face* "CHECK OUT MY ATHLETE'S FOOT! TASTE THE FRICKEN RAINBOW! Er...I mean foot."

You should have started sobbing sooner. I wonder what he'd have done if your phobia was of buttholes.

Then Op's bf would have jumped on her

To minimize the seeing of foots for you, do the following: 1. Get some real heavy boots with the metal ends. 2. Stomp on both his bare feet with them on. This will get his feet in a cast and you won't see them for at least 6 weeks.

but toes tend to stick out of casts so she would kinda still see feet.

I hate when people do that to me too! I've an insane phobia of feet, and if I go to the pool, or somewhere without shoes, my friends wipe their feet on me until I scream. It's absolutely childish and a scarring experience for me.

Of course the actual technique is carried out by a professional, that's a process known as flooding that can actually cure phobias pretty much 100%. It's only horrifying because she thinks it will be. This phobia is so crazy it's more than likely a result of an association with feet and a traumatic experience, flooding should be an effective cure. If she just let him do it rather than moan about it.

How so? Flooding is actually a rather effective method of curing phobias. Relax, lady.

I would still think this is an FML because it is incredibly disgusting to have someone rub their dirty feet against any part of your body. It is horrible to do that to someone's face, whether they have a phobia of feet or not. Before anyone asks well "How do you know his feet were dirty?" I am guessing they would have at least been sweating in his socks, and they had probably been in shoes at some point which is more disgusting sweat.

If her boyfriend was a professional then this could be a good way to get over her phobia, but my guess is that the boyfriend is just an ass.

That is true as well thank you. Unless the boyfriend is a trained professional he's got no business deciding how help her "get over it". He should leave that to the therapist or whoever that she is/will be seeing. If she's already seeing a therapist then I would be what the boyfriend did wouldn't make them too happy because it can cause a set back in the work they were already doing by traumatizing the OP.

exactly. And what her boyfriend was doing is NOT an appropriate flooding technique, a professional would never do what he did...for obvious reasons.

Her bf is not a professional. Seriously is he 14??? You can't trust him with your secrets...
