That's actually a good question. Why did your dentist take your blood pressure?
Well why did the dentist take your blood pressure?
Hey guys, a dentist here! (Uk) We do have to check high blood pressure in case we give local anaesthetics containing adrenaline (increasing the blood pressure) which can cause quite a problem. Unless OP is on medicines which increase or decrease their blood pressure, and the dentist wanted to check... Or he was just curious? An abnormal blood pressure can indicate quite a lot, the more we know about the patients medical history the better.
That explains why they have been so anal since the heart attack. The beta blocker. Usually once I'm in the chair, I take a Xanax and it drops back to normal. Good to know. Never questioned it, I just went along with it. Not like they are copping a cheap feel off if my arm.
Is it bad that I am extremely curious as to why they took your blood pressure :/
blood pressure cannot be measured in one sitting. make sure you go to your regular doctor for bp. there are a lot of error sources when taken blood pressure like the gender of the person taking your bp (relative to yours), angle of your arm, sitting or standing, wheter or not youre in pain/bleeding (and considering you were at the dentist...) etc. dont trust your dentist on this.

To be fair, its never happened to me or anyone I know, so I can relate to his shock.
Well I've never heard of a dentist who takes people's blood pressure either.
