Today, I took my driving test for the first time. The instructor stopped it after less than ten minutes, and insisted she drive back to the test centre "in the interest of public safety." FML

Today, I had my first driving test. The instructor turned out to be the kind of twit who made me do the full 60-minute test, only to tell me afterwards that he was failing me for the only mistake I made less than 2 minutes after the test started. Time wasting tit. FML

Today, I passed my driver's test. My instructor took the learner signs off his car and let me drive back to my place. I guess he didn't bet on me crashing the car just a few blocks from the test center. FML

Today, I drove 45 minutes to take my full driver's test. At the end of the test, the instructor told me I'd done everything perfectly, but had failed before I left the parking lot. I didn't see the "one way" sign at the entrance. FML

Today, I went to take my driver's test, and I did almost everything perfectly. The last thing was to back into a driveway. As I went to put my hand on the passenger seat to look over my shoulder, I got so nervous that I hit my instructor in the face. FML

Today, I took my driving test. I was nervous, but I thought I followed the rules of the road pretty well. My tester ended up failing me for "backing out too slowly". FML

Today, while I was taking my driver's test, my instructor received a text message. He promptly had a panic attack and screamed for me to pull over. It turned out his wife wanted a divorce. The last 15 minutes of my test consisted of him sobbing to himself as I drove back to the DMV. FML

Today, I took my driving test. As I was about to turn at a green light, a car sped toward us from the other direction, running a red light. My instructor failed me because I stopped to avoid getting rammed. Apparently I should have kept going, because it was my right of way. FML

Is there such a way of "driving properly"? Most people drive close to the same either way, some more daring, some not. Some more clumsily, some not. Almost saw a truck take another truck off a cliff about a month ago. Male driver. Don't see how it's only women. Sister can drive properly too. Women are equal, fool. :P

What, did you attempt the road test without actually practicing driving? That's why they make you wait after getting your beginner's permit (at least in America, not sure how it works in the UK)...

In UK once you turn 17 you can apply for a provisional licence, which means that so long as there's someone in the passengers seat who's been driving for more than three years, you're legally allowed to drive (except on motorways) so long as you have 'L' plates. There is no test/training to get the provisional so you can be as bad as you like. However you should have put in a lot of practise before the actual practical exam (you can only take this after passing the theory). So either the OP had horrendous nerves (which can happen), or she already knew she couldn't drive.
