Today, I took the motherboard out of my computer so I could put more RAM and a new video card in. While I was in the bathroom my mom threw it all out because it 'looked like garbage'. FML

Today, my parents got me a new computer for my birthday. They also took the liberty of throwing out my old computer, with 8 years of photos, videos, music, documents, emails, and bookmarks on it. But that's okay, I had a backup. They threw that out too. FML

Why remove the motherboard? RAM and video cards are cards that are inserted. You're totally doing it wrong. I call shenanigans on this FML.

I replaced a hard drive in a laptop when I was 12. You had to take half of the laptop apart to get to it.

I agree with some of the other posters. I don't know what computer you have but you shouldn't have to remove the motherboard to install new RAM and video card. I've done an major refit (processor, power unit, RAM and graphics card) without having to remove the motherboard and I've only ever removed the motherboard when upgrading it. Totally deserved.
