Today, I tried to convince my daughter that the "To boldly go where no man has gone before" speech is from Star Trek, and is not an actual historical speech by the first man on the moon. She has decided to include it in her university essay on Neil Armstrong anyway. FML

Your daughter may be a little slow....you might want to get her checked out

Big woop "university essays" are overrated...

Yeah, that's true. A lifetime of working at McDonalds is much more impressive.

Being in college I would have to say they are a tad overrated, at least for comp 1&2 in my experience, especially at the big colleges where you have a teacher who has a few hundred essay to grade. So they end up not being able to spend a lot of time on each one grading.

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. AN EARTH UNIVERSITY!!

My friend told me that he convinced a girl that was about anal sex before. So I'm thinking these two brilliant ladies should get together.

I have never seen star trec so I didn't know where the saying came from...

I am so sorry for your lack of knowledge for freaking amazing literature. You may continue your deprived existence now.

Well....there's nothing wrong with using that particular quote as long as she doesn't state Neil actually said it. It goes with her essay and could be used as quite a attention grabber.
