Today, I was asked to prove that I was Chinese by translating the phrase, "Ching chong ming chang ho". I'm not even Chinese. FML

@everyone asking for op to translate it: it doesn't mean anything, its a pejorative phrase used by racist idiots to mock the Chinese language.

I'm sorry OP :( as an Italian I know the version of: Mama Mia pizzeria, pizza, pasta, etc. People can be dicks -_-

I used to get the whole "hail hitler" and "nazi" comments because I'm German. People mock other people with the dumbest ammunition.

Is it really that bad? I mean, me and my friends make those types of jokes all the time. Doesn't mean we actually think all Italian people are like that...

Yes, it really is that bad, and you shouldn't be making any jokes at all. During my life I have never once heard another Italian (even when I've visited Italy) say "Mama Mia Pizzeria", sure they're cutesy for Americans or other tourists but they aren't like that

Well, I'll keep making the jokes because, quite frankly, I know where I stand. I'm assuming you'd find a show like say, South Park, offensive and unfunny?

Actually I quite like South Park, Kenny and PC Principle are my favourites and I find them quite funny And I understand comedy in a tv show, it's optional to watch it, but no need to be snarky to me when I'm simply one in millions who don't agree with racism

I'm not being snarky with you. If you find it funny in a TV show where millions watch it, why can't I joke around with my friends about it? By your logic, South Park is racist as well.

Jesus Christ, why would everyone get so offended easily? If someone mistakes your race that doesn't make them an asshole.

26 you gotta be pretty pissy to get a staff member to tell you to chill, like damn

Chill out, what indicated that I was mad?

The fact that you're saying racism, even though the OP isn't Chinese (and it's still directed to Chinese people), is non-offending?

Its obvious you cant tell the difference between race and nationality. Chill.

Also it wasn't the fact that they were mistaking OP for a Chinese person, it was the fact that they were being ignorant assholes and obviously making fun of Chinese people.

I agree with 33 and 87. Even if OP wasn't Chinese, it doesn't make it unoffensive. Like saying "no offense" don't make any mean comment not offensive.

That's so stupid. I'm sorry OP, ignorant people suck.

Did he ask you for fortune cookies as well?

Op I look Asian with my glasses on and I tell them it means "Stop sucking your dad's ****" or "Your mother was a good **** last night."
