Today, I was at my boyfriend's grandmother's house meeting her for the first time. I excused myself to the restroom and as I walked out of the room I heard her say, "You could do a lot better. She's fat." Then I heard my boyfriend reply, "I know." FML

Should have walked out and told him that YOU could do better, and dumped his ass.

I'm trying to think of a way to explain how this might just be a big misunderstanding... I've got nothing :( sorry

What his grand-mother said doesn't really bother me as much because, well, many elder people are judgemental of who someone dates, she could of been less rude and not talk behind your back, though. The fact that your boyfriend said 'I know' really pisses me off. You're dating which means he should love you no matter what. Not agree to the fact that he could 'do better'. He honestly doesn't deserve you op. I bet you are wonderful person, who even if you're overweight or not, is pretty. Please find someone better. Don't keep the asshole who won't even stick up for you in front of his grand-mother.

hey, that's good motivation to get in great shape though right? of course dump his ass and then watch him crawl back for you :)

Fat bottomed girl, you made granny's rocking chair go down. Get on your exercise bike and ride!

No offense but if he thinks that your fat and he's still with you obviously he cares about you. Grandma was just being real that's how older folks are built but I promise you your bf cares for you cause he wouldn't stay with you. Hit the gym ma and get it in and if he still like that leave his ass and not only will you be better off but you will be more healthy and that's more important then having a man

Yes he cares about her so much he defend her when she was being called fat and not good enough for him...oh wait....

Being old is not an excuse to be rude. My grandparents would never call someone fat like that.

maybe he was he just saying it so she would stop

You should have gotten your things and walked out. Nobody deserves to feel like that.

Maybe they're just joking around. You know, grandmas..... Sorry OP :(

Just ask him to his face if he was saying it to shut up his Grandma or if he really does feel that way. I'd rather be slightly fat and genuinely loved than fat and have my man diss me.

Being "genuinely loved" means they stick up for you when people put you down. If she is overweight fine, but he could have at least said he loved her and doesn't need to do any better. Maybe that's just me. Guess I'm weird
