Today, I was at the airport to pick up my mother since my baby is due soon. As she arrived, I smiled wide and opened my arms for a hug, but she walked right by me. Apparently, being pregnant makes me unrecognizable. My husband and I had to tell it her was me, her own daughter. FML

Haha Aw. It was just a simple mistake and I'm sure your mom didn't mean any hard feelings. Congrats on the baby!

Or she knew it was you, saw a cute older man, and decided to walk past you at the last second because she didn't want to be seen with you... And then once he walked by she came back. Just one guy's opinion.

Let's hope you recognize your own baby :) Congrats

How old is your mom? O_o She's kind of getting up there in age it seems. You sure you want the challenge of taking care of a newborn AND a senile old lady? XD Jk

To the mother's defense flying takes a lot out of you. Its both a mentally and physically exhausting experience. Security, the crowd, connecting flights, crying babies, being cramped up in a tight space, etc. I flew for 6 hours yesterday in addition to the hour and a half between the connecting flights.

I caught a flight and didn't get to my destination till 12 hours later between waiting for connecting flights and the actual flying, but I wasn't all loopy and not recognizing my family XP But I suppose if you're older it may have more of a harsh effect on you

I still recognized the people picking me up, but I passed out in the car. That's pretty much what I meant though. IDK how old the OP's mother is, but if she's 60 it could have had a negative effect on her *shrug*

Or the op has gained a couple hundred pounds in "baby weight" since her mother saw her last.

seriously? thats a load of crap. I travel quite frequently. and I have never had a problem reconizing family members after a flight. and mentally exhaustion? from a plain? no that's weed flying!

53- Are you a 50+ year old woman? People generally tend to lose their memory as they get older. OP's mom could just be old, maybe she has alzheimers. She may be extremely tired after a long, stressful flight. Just because something doesn't happen to you, that doesn't mean that everyone is immune to it. BTW mentally exhaustion is grammatically wrong, mentally exhausted or mental exhaustion would be proper alternatives. And it's plane, not plain

maybe it was JUST becuze you were pregnant?

Her head was still spinning from the high altitude and the fact that she had just joined the mile high club with a midget named Alfred right before descending, give her a break eh?

didnt deserve that and hope the baby is awesome;)

Big deal. You're only upset because of the pregnancy hormones. Chill out.

Or maybe because her own mother didn't recognize her.

Her MOTHER didn't recognize her... I actually think this isn't really a big deal. It's just kinda sad on the mom's part, really.
