Today, I was at work, nonchalantly spinning my keys around my finger when they flew off and hit a glass cabinet. Broken glass showered passing customers. I don't think I'll have a job to go to tomorrow. FML

If people weren't so sue happy these days you wouldn't have to worry about losing your job over something that's worthy of an apology and paying to have it fixed. Now some jackass is probably going to sue over a little tiny cut, probably not as big as a paper cut. But now the "Victim" can't walk by windows any longer for fear of being showered by glass and oh all the sleepless nights from the horror and pain of the mighty 1/4" gash in their pinky finger... sorry OP wrong place wrong time...

Because spinning your keys automatically make you stupid. /logic

I could see myself doing this so I sympathize. FYL.

Not very nonchalantly if they flew off hard enough to break the glass.

I honestly believe that this is worth punching someone random in the face over...

If you give this response a thumbs-down, you have a serious case of shit-phobia.

sweet!!! I'll even work for free if I have to. I don't mind.

Fairly new to FML, but this post has to be one of the most retarded I've read so far. Broken glass showering over you isn't something fixed by an apology. Broken glass can be very dangerous. What if it was more than just a tiny cut? What if it got in their eyes or mouth? Its more than a "wrong place, wrong time" type deal. The OP put people in serious danger and needs to start using common sense. Even if no one was seriously hurt the OP deserves to be fired. There are so many things wrong with your mentality. You're just as stupid as the OP.

I'm confused as to where in his post did he mention any type of mental illness or handicap.

33- Fairly new, you say? Just shut up before you dig yourself a deeper hole. It is indeed a perfect example of "wrong place, wrong time". Serious danger my ass.

you're an idiot. guess you would have sued huh?

sxe_beast 11

Yes, if glass showered of me I would have sued. Glass can seriously harm you. @38 - I never something about mentally handicapped. Mentality as defined : the set of one's mind; view; outlook

sxe-beast First off. Hahahahahaha... you really have no clue and I can see you'd be a prime trolling candidate. None of us know what really happened except the OP. Second, there was never any mention of the quantity of glass. Any amount could create a showering effect. Is the glass tempered or not? Showering gives me the mental picture of tiny pieces, hence small cut. And last but not least you sound exactly like the type of a$$hole I was writing about. Think about someone beside yourself. What was the mental intent of this young man. I doubt he intentionally meant to break the glass. OP probably would have added 3 people were injured, went to the hospital etc... if that did indeed happen don't you think? Really, no really think about it... Wouldn't the story be a much greater FML if OP said large shards of glass fell on innocent bystanders, one guy lost an arm, blood was every where. People in our nation do things with reckless behavior all the time. I think a lot of the time there is an over reaction from the individual whom is holding the liability because they're worried about being sued over some money hungry lazy ass who doesn't want to earn their way through life, they want it given to them.

sxe_beast 11

Just because he didn't intentionally mean to break the glass doesn't make it okay. It doesn't matter the amount of glass or the size. You admit he was being reckless/careless and he should be punished for that. He deserves to be fired as his carelessness is a liability. A drunk driver doesn't intentionally mow people down, but their lack of judgement and reckless behaviors lead to such disaster. Yes I totally just went there. He's at work. He shouldn't be nonchalantly swinging keys around his finger. I'm not lazy/money hungry. I don't jump on the lawsuit bandwagon everytime something bad happens to me, but seriously... walking along, minding my own business, SPLASHBAMPOW, raining glass? The OP is correct to think "I don't think I'll have a job to go to tomorrow". Maybe next time he won't goof off and potentially harm people. My father runs a company and he would have fired the OP without a second thought. Probably not only because of liability, but who would want some irresponsible asshat working for them? I can't reiterate this anymore. If you don't get it, fine.

so you would sue someone if they accidentally did something that could be harmless to you? ass.

I can't believe you just compared this with drunk driving. You're pretty much an example of what's wrong with the current sue-happy mindset of the US.

What you don't get is we don't know what happened. OP may have a job the requires him to carry and use keys often. Or he could be a constant screw up at work and this may be the final straw for him. Either way FML is about everyone's own perspective on what happened since we are shown a glimpse and not given every detail. The possibilities here could be endless. So you need to really lighten up. I don't expect everyone to agree or think like I do. We are all individuals and that's what is fun about this website. However it seems you are either young and sheltered or very unworldly and narrow minded. Additionally I never said he shouldn't be punished. But let the punishment fit the crime. Which brings up a good point. The main reason I thought of my original comment was because the post made no mention of any injury which further led me to think OP is probably young and overreacting about what happened. DUI..... really, not even in the same ballpark. I feel like I'm arguing with a 12 year

"...the most retarded one I've read so far." I know what mentality means. I'm also mature enough to not call things retarded unless they are. Don't throw that word around, dumbass.
