In retrospect it probably was the pharmacy tech who made the comment, I'm never sure who's who behind the counter. Regardless, I'll be calling the store in the morning to report them and figure out if I need to do anything else to get their ass fired. Also, just for the record epilepsy is far from a "mild ailment". I consider myself lucky that I've come away from most of my seizures scoff free. But even so, I've broken three ribs, had a concussion, and incurred facial scarring from falling when I seize. Not to mention that my short term memory is shot to hell and with every seizure I have I run the risk of further cognitive decline. But yeah, the medicine is definitely unnecessary. Right.

very unprofessional
Why go into pharmaceuticals if you're going to complain about medicine use? Obviously if people weren't on "unnecessary meds" then they wouldn't have a problem to bitch about...or a job.
ADD is fake. It's a fabrication of the Pharmaceutical industry just to get some profit. The medication sells well in today's society because "every kid is special" and it simply *can't* be true that some kids are less focused than others. And (unrelated) if you're on Prozac, you're a blind sheep.
I would say to that person that their job doesn't require expressing their personal opinion.
What an idiot. They'll let Anyone be a pharmacist nowadays. Ignore him op, use a different pharmacy next time.
To anyone and everyone with epilepsy: Please consider the Modified Atkins Diet (and or Ketogenic). I've been on it for 4 months sometime this weekend. Please do some research on it... it can help a LOT. I promise. My epilepsy has been reduced a lot.
That's one of the steps I took in fixing mine! You get on medicine, get enough sleep, find out if you're allergic to anything (mine was wheat), and get your atlas (a little bone on the back of your neck) adjusted by a chiropractor and I've been seizure free for 2 years this summer :D
i'll be seeing a dietician in a couple weeks to talk about the ketogenic diet. they say it's best to start when a child. i've had epilepsy for 20 years and tried so many medications, so i'm trying not to be too optimistic about it. i won't be having an surgery done because i have problems all over my brain, not just in one spot. ugh this disease sucks
Tell him to shut up!

Even if he is a pharmacy tech, who the hell is he to make those remarks. He should atleast understand a little about it!
My brother has epilepsy too, and he usually just gets back up and goes back to what he was doing. No matter how hard he fell or what he flailed into, he doesn't want to bother with the hospital or medicine. The only time he even goes is when they happen at school and they call 911 on him. I actually don't even know what my point was. But I spent like ten minutes typing and retyping to word it better, so I'm posting it.
My mother has had epilepsy her whole life, being raised by someone with it i just want to let you know how much I feel for you. It really isn't easy. <3 Stay safe!
Why act like a douche too? Be the better person. It's not guaranteed that he was talking about you anyway. Still, hope you stay safe.
My dog has epilepsy. I know its not quite the same, but its still very scary when she has a seizure.
I wonder why people like to dislike comments like these #120
I doubt he was referring to you. It's true, tons of children and teens are prescribed ADD meds they don't need or con their doctors into prescribing them pain pills. Pill abuse is becoming a big problem with teens and young adults. Odds are he was glad to see a teen getting a medication that is actually necessary.
" It's true, tons of children and teens are prescribed ADD meds they don't need or con their doctors into prescribing them pain pills." Yeah, but those are thoughts that a pharmacist should keep to themselves. Especially in front of customers who are picking up prescriptions.
The thing is, I have had really bad pain everyday since I was 11 but the doctors are the ones that throw meds at me (not literally!) I've been on so many different meds, pain pills etc. I asked for an answer not a cover up. However once I stopped a pain med and changed to an alternative one I ended up going through withdrawal. All adolescents get judged because of a few which I think is ridiculous.
I hate it when people bring up the "ADD" thing. So many people with very little knowledge of my situation have played doctor and told me that I don't need them. I've been on and off of them since I was 7, and I know that the medicine makes my issues tolerable. I don't need someone who read a news article that one time to tell me that I'm just a druggie.

That is ridiculously unprofessional and degrading to you. I'm normally against all of the "sue him/her"-type comments, but perhaps a formal complaint is warranted here.
