Today, I was confronted by my father after I got back home from a party in the early hours. He demanded to know if I'd been doing any drugs, and then decided to give me a scare lecture on the dangers of alcohol. I'd had a few beers. He had the smell of tequila on his breath. FML

He's afraid you'll end up like him. Alcoholism is hereditary.

Father at home drinking tequila, child out guzzling beer. Same difference? Who had to get behind the wheel and put innocent people in danger?

Way to go on those assumptions. Maybe the 'child' is over 18 (legal drinking age in UK) and maybe the father had a few drinks with the neighbours. And, maybe the OP got a taxi home. Think for crying out loud.

if you're old enough to be lectures by your parents maybe you should think twice about drinking. just a thought

It's a parent job to try and prevent their child from making the mistakes they did... "Do as I say, not as I do."

The difference is, he was home and of legal age. You were out with friends that were drinking and driving.

Who's to know that OP wasn't of legal age? And no where in the post does it say that he/she or their friends had been drinking and driving!
