Today, I was diagnosed with migraines. Any loud sounds or bright lights make it worse. I'm the drummer for a heavy metal band, so I now have to choose between really bad migraines or a career. FML

You should always out your health before most things! Remember that you only have one body, while you can have multiple careers. Fyl though, and I hope the medications are effective :) I have heard that migraines are horrible to say the last, so good luck in the future, always a lot of options left.

I'm not sure if you even read the comments, but I'll tell you anyways. I have severe migraines too, and I use "Sumatriptan Nasal Spray". It helps me tremendously! Yours might be worse than mine, but that's still something I would look into. (:

OP, I suffer from debilitating migraines. I recommend Treximet. It's not preventative but it works wonders. Also, exercise helps a ton. You gotta try to keep your migraines under control before giving up on your dream!

Metal is a bit over done and annoying anyways.

You're probably an awful drummer. Save the world the migraines and keep them to yourself.

diagnosed with migraines. what? no such thing. there might be something else causing you to get the migraines that you have been diagnosed with.

Just wear ear muffs or something that lets only a little sound in as to we're you can hear yourself play, and sunglasses.

Unless you are the drummer for Megadeath or whatever 80s big hair metal band is still around - you might want to consider your fallback career plan. I mean you might make it big, but of you are pushing 30 and still playing in bars or garages - lets be real. The music industry is brutal.

You're band obviously isn't famous or out there making millions, so put down the drum sticks and get a real job.
