Today, I was diagnosed with migraines. Any loud sounds or bright lights make it worse. I'm the drummer for a heavy metal band, so I now have to choose between really bad migraines or a career. FML

You should always out your health before most things! Remember that you only have one body, while you can have multiple careers. Fyl though, and I hope the medications are effective :) I have heard that migraines are horrible to say the last, so good luck in the future, always a lot of options left.

Take some codeine and stop whining! Or just stop whining!

Sorry OP I suffer migraines too and mine are triggered by too much exercise, I used to be a serious jogger: (

Smoking weed isn't a cure-all, but it might help him switch to a more laid-back music genre.

Get a substitute until your better then. It doesn't affect your career if you have a sub while you have a migraine. Just tell the band and they should understand

Botox injections will stop you from getting migraines. Ask your doctor. The injection goes in between your eyebrows in a diamond shape. 24-28 units works for my wife.

you know, it is possible to keep playing. just wear earplugs and ask to keep. the stage lights down, or wear sunglasses

Put on ear guards that people use like when they're shooting guns!

#72 You obviously have never had a migraine... And I also suffer from the most debilitating painfully excruciating condition known to man (not migraines or childbirth or dental pain) and migraines can often be a close second, especially when they don't stop and no pain medication helps, there is no epidural and no gas, and you can't see and you can't move and it can last up to or even over a month. Neurological pain is no walk in the park.
