Today, I was expecting my period. To avoid the embarrassment of everyone in the office finding out, instead of putting tampons in my bag, I hid one in my bra. It fell out while I was coming back from lunch. I am now known to all as "The Tampon Dispenser". FML

I assume if you work in an office everyone there would have been able to handle seeing a tampon in your bag. Even if they are, for some reason, immature enough to give you a dumb nickname like that they could have been desensitized from seeing tampons in purses from high school and have not said anything. In reality if someone pointed out "Oh hey guys, she has a tampon in her bag!" they would have looked like a moron.

The "bag" I take to work is backpack and it would look really odd if I suddenly jumped up and took it to the bathroom. I don't care if people know I'm on my period but I also don't really want them knowing the exact moment I'm changing a tampon. I can understand the OP trying to be discreet.

So get a menstrual cup. That way you just insert it when in the morning when you think your period is going to start and empty and replace it when you go to the toilet. No more carrying stuff around. Simples.

Theres no reason to be embarrassed, like everyone else is saying, and putting it in your bra is just stupid and umcomfortable, put it in your pocket or just leave it in your purse next time
