Today, I was fired. For "lack of attention to details", specifically spelling errors. My now ex-boss misspelled the name of his own company on my severance agreement. FML

Man talk about irony. Hopefully you laughed and laughed as you left.

If you mixed your and you're then you probably deserve it.

He probably did it on purpose.

Yep my thoughts exactly. Still not a YDI since OP did get fired, but yeah. One typo by the boss doesn't negate the pile of mistakes OP may have made. If anything, it's just VERY ironic lol

Spell check, dude. You could have avoided this.

Then you were not fired from the place you are employed

Nope, this was on the severance package which just outlines what they get paid (or other benefits) after getting fired. If anything they're not getting severance pay because the company "doesn't exist".

He's the boss -- you've been misspelling the name of the company all along. Know your place, boy!

At least you have a severance agreement. Normally only people who are laid off get those. When a person is fired it's generally because they deserve it, and therefore get no compensation.

I just have to point out that part of your FML is a sentence fragment.. I don't mean to be a Nazi, but I could resist. Best of luck job hunting though.
