Today, I was given my yearly evaluation as a cake decorator at Walmart. They said I "was easily the best decorator there" and "the bakery has definitely improved since I got there." In the same conversation they put "unsatisfactory" on my evaluation and denied my raise. FML
I agree, your life sucks 35 316
You deserved it 2 470

ruthlessrobin tells us more.

I went to the store manager who said "what do you expect? You don't make 22 cakes a day." That level is for mass production I am put on specialty orders 90% of the time. He didn't care

Walmart does not treat their employees correctly. You should argue with your superior and demand an explanation why you were denied a raise what you did

Don't worry OP, Its just Walmart. You surely deserve something better, like a job at a specialty bakery

Contact the local bakers union and tell them you want to organize your store.

That sounds about right. They found a reason to fire me less than a month before I was due for a raise..

That company has gone so downhill. They are the new K-Mart.

Not surprising, raises are a forbidden thing at Walmart. Walmart just really sucks in how they treat their staff. FYL.

Can't say I'm surprised at this from Walmart. The Walton family are in the vanguard of the asshole revolution.

Typical of Walmart to deny their staff a decent wage to live on. It is a shame that every worker across the nation isn't able to strike together. Then Every Walmart store would be closed and the Walmart owners would not get to profit of her workers financial misfortune of shitty low wages. I wish you and all Walmart employers better pay rates and financial opportunities because you all deserve it. With your cake decorating skills are you able to look for work in a bakery ? At least there your yummy works of art will be appreciated.

Sounds like Wal-Mart. anything to not pay their workers. Even lie. I'm sorry op. Time to find a new bakery job.
