Today, I was given my yearly evaluation as a cake decorator at Walmart. They said I "was easily the best decorator there" and "the bakery has definitely improved since I got there." In the same conversation they put "unsatisfactory" on my evaluation and denied my raise. FML
I agree, your life sucks 35 316
You deserved it 2 470

ruthlessrobin tells us more.

I went to the store manager who said "what do you expect? You don't make 22 cakes a day." That level is for mass production I am put on specialty orders 90% of the time. He didn't care

Walmart does not treat their employees correctly. You should argue with your superior and demand an explanation why you were denied a raise what you did

Don't worry OP, Its just Walmart. You surely deserve something better, like a job at a specialty bakery

With comments like that, it seems that you could easily get another job in a much better bakery and get more money out of it.

That's how walmart gets away with shitty wages. By lying. FYL

That does suck, at Sam's Club we automatically get a raise every year. The amount depends on what you evaluation score is

Welcome to Walmart home of the shitty supervisors. Most of those supervisor at Walmart are just people there for a paycheck. They don't give a shit about the employees or customers. If you enjoy baking find a local bakery. You'd probably learn more and make more. Good luck OP

2 options here it's either 1. They are lying to you about your awesome baking skills (your probably are awesome!) or they don't want to give you a raise. But don't worry it's just Walmart forget them OP

I believe the OP more than walmart announcement to give raises to nearly half of their employees.

every hourly associate actually. but that raise has nothing to do with anyone's (lack of) skill in their job area. that's the company deciding to keep up competitive wages.

OP, having worked for the evil empire, I can tell you first hand, it's not you. They tell you how great you are so that you won't complain about anything they are doing, they hit you with the gut shot when your not looking. Hang in there, bakery is a hard job at any store.

Well as for walmart employees goes anything less then a 3 on your yearly evaluation is unsatisfactory so if you got above that then your are intended to get a raise its part of the "Three Basic Beliefs" so yeah I would argue that and take it above management and go straight to district
