Today, I was having an argument with my girlfriend in front of our friends. I didn't want her to spoil my good time, so I ignored her until she disappeared. She re-appeared thirty minutes later just to throw a punch that would make Muhammad Ali jealous. Our friends' reaction? They clapped. FML

Violence is unacceptable. That said, ignoring someone is the ultimate sign of disrespect--maybe even more disrespectful than hitting somebody. Disrespect has no place in any relationship. The OP deserves it, no matter what the argument was about.

So you were acting like a douche. YDI.

51: You trollin'? Yeah you must be ******* trolling if you think ignoring someone is a mature way to handle anything.

All you guys are retarded. The girlfriend's retarded, so what if the bf argued? He was the mature one who resolved the argument, yet he took a punch from the girl? I would dump the bitch, where are you op?

Nothing was resolved. Instead of adressing the problem somewhere else, he chose to treat it as of it didn't exist. That's childish in its own right. I do agree that she shouln't have punched him.

Damn bro I would have Claped to I wouldn't want to die

I'm kind of leaning towards ydi. She had no right to hit you, but ignoring her was blatantly disrespectful and completely rude. Its basically telling her you cant be bothered listening to what she has to say. This is even worse if you where arguing about a serious issue. You should have pulled her aside and discussed it rationally, like adults. If you didn't want to discuss it immediately, you could have calmly asked if the two of you could talk about it after the party. Ignoring her probably only made her more angry, frustrated and probably hurt. I can't say I wouldn't have been tempted to throw a punch.

If your good time takes precedence over actually resolving your problem, YDI. And to ignore someone that you're in a relationship with? Real mature. You could have asked her if you could talk about it later, among other things. But if you're more concerned with YOUR good time than over whatever has caused a problem between you two, you deserve to be punched in the face repeatedly.

Look at them thumb you down, 98! They don't like uncomfortable facts being presented, right? Cause apparently, beating the shit out of your partner is A-okay, but only if you're female.

She shouldn't have punched you but you shouldn't have ignored her.

find better girlfriend and get some new friends.
