Today, I was having trouble blowing out the last of the several candles on my bedside table. Exasperated, I blew as hard as I could, which sent hot wax from the other candles shooting into the air, all over my face and into my eyes. FML

Today, I was sitting next to my friend as he blew out the candles on his birthday cake. Some asshole got the bright idea to shove his face in the cake, but they missed and pushed me in instead. The candles were still lit. My hair caught fire. FML

Today, I found a box of birthday candles sitting on the coffee table. Bored, I lit one, and after a minute I threw it away and sat back down on the couch. I started looking at the box and noticed that it said "Magic Re-Lighting Candles" at the exact moment that my trash can burst into flames. FML

Today, as a stressed NHS nurse, I tried to take a relaxing bath, except I dropped my book in the water, my candle set my hair on fire, I slipped getting out and may have broken my finger. The noise woke up my two kids, so I had to start their bedtime routine over again, and I got bath salt crystals in my eye. FML

Today, I sliced a deep gash into my thumb while carving up bagels. After putting a plaster on, I returned to my room to relax, where I lit a candle. The flame from my new lighter shot up, and set fire to the plaster on my thumb. Now I have a cut AND several burns. FML

I believe this is true because my friend did something similar when she was drunk. I ended up picking wax of her face, hands and her hair. Was so funny!

If you blew really hard, wouldn't the wax fly the direction you blew? As in, away from your face? I don't get it. How were the candles arranged?

Maybe it wasn't completely flat surface. I don't know how to explain it but imagine the candle melts and there's a wall of wax behind it, so imagine the wax hits the wall and bounces back. idk just an idea... Try blowing at water in a shot glass and see what happens. It's similar with a candle because the middle part of the candle around the wick has melted more so it's lower, meaning the top of the candle is in a kind of bowl shape.

YDI I really can't see how you can make wax splash into the opposite direction than the one you're blowing and unless you weren't abnormally close the the light you wouldn't have been able to get it into your eyes

If she was directly above the candles and blowing straight down with a fairly strong blow, it may send up wax up from the candle she's blowing at, but not the others. I CALL FAKE TOO.
