Today, I was helping my elderly landlady (75 years old) carry in her groceries. She said "Thanks" and then handed me a notice of eviction. FML

There's something that you convieniently left out here. Why are you getting evicted? YDI if there's a valid reason. Sorry but "I helped her with her groceries" won't work if you haven't paid your rent in three months.

You should have slept with her.

YDI for doing something to get evicted. Doing a nice deed doesn't make this a FML because you either didn't pay the rent or were being too disruptive or something else. Get over yourself. This isn't a FML at all, you'd have been evicted even if you hadn't helped her carry her groceries.

FML's pretty similar to this one keep popping up. S'getting kinda annoying.

uuhhh, wait. if it's a "she", shouldn't it be "landlady"?

sweet of you, but if you deserve to get evicted, you deserve to get evicted. being nice and being a good tenant can be two totally separate things

Just because it's their fault doesn't mean they deserve it. It was probably an FML because it was bad timing

YDI for thinking that carrying groceries should stop her from giving you an eviction notice. You obviously did something else wrong that carrying groceries doesn't make up for.

it has to be an order from court in order to be legitimate...if its just a pice of paper stating the fact...then she can't evist you...

Don´t trust anyone older than 74

make her "help" you clear out your stuff so you can move out. particularly your couch, tables/chairs, anything too heavy for her to lift......
