Today, I was lying in bed minding my own business when my mom entered the room. I was proposed to a few weeks ago by my boyfriend, and my mom came in to tell me that my boyfriend's mom was on the phone. Turns out, he stole the engagement ring from her drawer. FML

Today, my boyfriend of 4 years proposed to me. I said yes and he gave me an engagement ring. He immediately went to call his mom to tell her the happy news. After the phone call, he asked if he could return the ring because his mom needed money. FML

Today, my boyfriend proposed with the perfect ring, restaurant, flowers, and champagne. He’s never been this well prepared for anything in his life, so he admitted that my mother planned the whole thing and forced him to propose, even though neither of us want to get married. She even bought the ring. FML

Today, I invited my girlfriend over to a family lunch, planning to propose to her at just the right moment. My family was in on it, including my apparently disapproving mom, who kept causing a scene to grab my girlfriend's attention every time I went to pull out the ring. FML

Today, we announced our engagement. His mother immediately accused me of being a manipulative, gold digging whore. She's been fine with me for the last 5 years of dating, plus I used all my savings to support my boyfriend when he wanted to go back to college, but as soon as the ring appeared, I'm a gold digger. I'm 21, my fiancé is 20, & we are both living with our parents currently. There's nothing wrong with saving up money so that you won't have to stress over bills for the first few months.

I'm engaged and live at home. I'm not in high school, Graduated from college with a BA and my fiancée and I are currentley saving money to buy a house, not waste money on an appartment, that in the year of paying rent, I could have enough money for a down payment on a house. I'm not some idiot tenager that jumps into things, my fiancée and I have been together for six years. Were also both in our 20s, so I see nothing wrong with this. Better then some teenager that gets married and lives with there spouse at home and has a baby that hey can barley support who expects mom and dad to take care of it. Now granted, I kno some people have there own reasons for there situations, so I'm not trying to be mean to people that rent or have kids early, because that's there own business, but personally wouldn't want to waste my money on an apartment when both my fiancée and I have parents that own a houses and have no problems with us staying in our old rooms...
