Today, I was lying in bed minding my own business when my mom entered the room. I was proposed to a few weeks ago by my boyfriend, and my mom came in to tell me that my boyfriend's mom was on the phone. Turns out, he stole the engagement ring from her drawer. FML

What an idiot, I would dump him.. He could have turned it into something romantic, like a ring with no rock and promise to fill it as he becomes more successful in life or something..

I'm 21, a successful hairstylist, & engaged...I also live with my parents. its not at all that my fiance & I can't afford to live in an apartment together, we most definitely could. I'd just much rather save money for a house rather than paying money to stay in an apartment that I'll never own. its called being smart.

I'm also 21, a successfull animal nurse (or vet tech), moved out of my moms place, on the very east coast of Canada, to Toronto on my own when I was 18. I am also now engaged, and after paying rent in apartments since leaving my mothers place, my fiancé and I just bought a brand new house, managing money makes life so much easier! LOL.

That's good for you, I'm glad it worked out for you, while I'm sure you had your reasons for moving out at such a young age, think of all that money that went towards your rent, that could have gone towards paying off a mortgage. All I'm saying is that if you have a good relationship with your parents that you have the same independece as living on your own, why not live with them while your saving money for a house? My dad rents apartments to people, that's what paid for most of my college education, so I know first hand that renting is really a waste of money unless you really don't have much of a choice or your parents restrict your freedoms.

Wow, your boyfriend is such a loser! Tell him to get a job and keep his dirty paws off of other peoples things.

Pretty much standard for the Dirty Jerz.

I disagree with #49. He probably isn't in high school. He might just not have anywhere to stay. I think he probably could not afford a ring so he stole one from his mom. But still, FYL.

An immature sleazebag who steals from his mother and lives in NJ? Impossible! Hah. The two of you are perfect for one another, go for it anyway.

Today, I was playing my clarinet around the house and I asked my dad if he was coming to my concert. He says no I have to work. He is a plumer he doesn't know when he goes to work.FML
