Today, I was making tea when I smelled something burning. My very fluffy cat had put his tail right next to the open flame and burnt his fur. Now I have a semi-hairless cat and a very smelly apartment. FML

There should be a "your cat deserved it" button lmao! I'm rolling this shit is too funny... This is why you get a dog

Why is your cat so close to the flame to begin with and near your tea which you're going to drink..

They might have turned their back for a couple of seconds - cats can be a nightmare when it comes to jumping up near fire and other dangers. Plus I interpreted "tea" as in the meal rather than a drink; I could be wrong but I doubt someone would be using an open flame to make a brew.

There are tea kettles that sit on the stove top, and there are gas stoves. It really isn't that hard to imagine when you put the two together.

I said YDI. Your sweet kitty should never have been anywhere near the flames to begin with. YOu NEVER EVER leave open flames of any kind unattended, especially with children and/or animals in the home. Please be more careful. Instead of bitching about the smell you could be homeless with a dead cat. Thank GOD he was ok. You need to be more careful or there may not be a next time...

You realize that cats can jump on the counter when you turn around? I grew up with a gas stove, so unless you turn it off every time you leave the room that doesn't work very well. I never touched the stove because I was told NOT to.

Is what u get for owning cats.

This is why you NEVER let the cat up on the counter, they could get hurt, and their feet are unsanitary.
