Today, I was notified that the company did not give me a raise two months ago like I thought. The increase was a typo. Two months ago I wrote a thank you for the raise email to my boss. Now I get to write a check to the company to pay back my "raise." FML

they can reduce your future pay back or below what it was before the accident but they cannot deduct any money or force you to write a check, period. it is illegal hands down in california. read labor rights section of Cali state website for more info, what to do etc.

If I were you, I'd keep my mouth shut...

Just steal enough stuff from the office to even things out. Make up the deficit in pens, staplers, computers and cleaning ladies.

Have you seen the cleaning ladies? Gak!! Better luck with the mail delivery ladies. Yum...

That is some BS. You shouldn't have to pay for their mess ups.

So now you have to pay to go to work!??

I would not be writing a check back to the company.

It doesn't matter if it was a typo. They can't legally require you to repay the money. They can pay you your normal rate from now on, though.

screw that it was their mistake keep the money don't give them anything

Ya write them back a cheque for $000.000 thank you and have a good day. It's their fk up you shouldn't have to pay for their losses

I would not pay it back! Their fault not yours!!
