Today, I was notified that the company did not give me a raise two months ago like I thought. The increase was a typo. Two months ago I wrote a thank you for the raise email to my boss. Now I get to write a check to the company to pay back my "raise." FML

Umm... hey OP? That sounds kinda ILLEGAL to me, the mistake was on THEIR end, you owe them nothing.

Apperently the same thing happened to a friend of mine and she just talked to a pre law student i believe and they said that is illegal

Legally I'm pretty sure they can't do that. It's their own error and they should deal with the consequences.

You would think they would have corrected the mistake 2 months ago when you sent that thank you email.

Dude. Do not give them that money. That was their mistake. I hate seeing people get pushed around like that, and worse yet, the people who just take it. Have a back bone.
