Today, I was on a dinner date with a guy I really like. I guess I was on my phone too much because halfway through the date he sent me a text saying how much my half of the bill would be. FML

That's incredibly rude of you. You "guess"?! I'd would say that you were. Be a little more polite next time and stash your phone away; the newest twitter updates can wait.

You really like him, huh? You really showed it. YDI

Try getting off of your damn phone and actually interacting with the people you're with. I HATE when people are glued to their phones, whether it's a date or not! Rude and insensitive, I hope he dumped you.

If you really liked your date then you wouldn't be on your phone at all

Don't act like you didn't have that one coming. Christ if I was him I woulda texted you tellin' ya how much of a rude, ignorant bitch you are and left you with the whole bill. So really FHL for having to waste time with an ungrateful chick.

If you "really liked" him, why didn't you actually spend time with him instead of ignoring him to text other people?

I don't even text when I'm Skyping someone, much less if I was on a date with them. If you thought the person you were talking to was so interesting, you should've gone on a date with them.

I didn't really think dating had come to this. At least, until I was at dinner with my boyfriend. We had been together about 2 years at that point, and an elderly couple came up to us while we were carrying on about something funny. The husband said, "I just want to let you two know how refreshing it is to see a couple actually on a date." We were a bit confused at first, but I suddenly realized that couples on dates these days really don't interact the way they used to. We thanked them immensely, and ever since that night, I've been keeping an eye on other couples in restaurants; not surprisingly, we saw the majority of young couples on their phones with glazed eyes. At the very least, though, my boyfriend and I set a good example and continue to interact when we're together, like any loving couple would (hopefully) do. It really is a shame to see so many young adults staring at their phones instead of having a conversation with someone sitting in front of them.

YDI. I can't express this enough, how would you feel if this happened to you?

Just thought the comments needed one that isnt about how stupid she is, since that has been established :P

wow! I guess your phone is more important than your date, the guy you really like! RUDE!
