That you'd even post this on FML and hope for some sympathy shows you how much of an attitude adjustment you're in need of. I've never understood why some people like to pretend they're interacting with human beings when the real thing is sitting right at the table with them.

I haven't read the comments and I'm sure this has already been said but when you are on a date your phone should be on silent and not taken out unless it's an absolute emergency. I would have went to the bathroom and not came back and stuck you with the bill and since you love your phone so much you would also notice that I wouldn't be contacting you anymore at all. YDI for being rude.

The only time you should have a phone out when you're with someone is if you're showing them a video, picture, putting them in your contacts, or setting a date with them on your phone calendar or something like that. I've had friends before who ignored me for their phones. Its really lame. But a date? Really? Next time you're with a guy you like, try impressing him by using the correct diner etiquette. And I don't mean act all fancy, just be polite. He shouldn't see your phone at all during the date unless you're trading numbers.

To the 10K people who feel sorry for her, I'll assume you're just as terrible. Why even agree to a date if you can't spend an evening without your phone? Good luck finding a meaningful relationship with anyone ever....
