Hedgehog smugglers eh? I wonder if I can get into the business...
How in the world do you sneak a hedgehog past security...?
They are allowed on planes by some airlines
I hope the container had holes or the poor hedgehog probably wouldn't of survived the flight
The hedgehog was probably also hyperventilating as well; being his in the plastic container. Hope the stewardess found out soon.
Sonic is coming after you!
I'd be far more concerned about what else someone was able to sneak past security than the harmless little critter in a tote next to me...
I have never met anyone with a phobia of hedgehogs! But that was nice of you to try not to inconvenience her even though you were uncomfortable.
It's not nice at all! She had a hedgehog on an aircraft. It's illegal, possibily dangerous if it escaped and caused a panic or something and cruel to the hedgehog. Even if OP didn't have a fear of hedgehogs they should have reported it as soon as they saw it.
Contained animals can in many cases be legally brought on flights. Do you have any actual evidence this is illegal?
I feel like she wouldn't have gotten in trouble- clearly she got it through security and unless she hid it in her underwear going through the detector the tsa guys would have seen it and okayed it
I feel that way as well. I believe the hedgehog was probably her pet and she was just flying with it.
Had OP reported her, the hedgehog would have been confiscated and most likely euthanized.
Not necessarily true. Hedgehogs can be brought on airlines, legally. I have a friend who travels with her hedgehog frequently. They go through security and are allowed to fly. It's only international flights that she doesn't take the hedgie with her, due to varying requirements that other countries have.
If they took the hedge hog they wouldn't have killed it. You should really learn how that process works. The fact she already had it on the place they would've let her take it the full way but reminded her about the rules on pets and such.
Its to bad what happened to you it was a nice gesture you tried to do, although I suppose hedgehogs are better than snakes on a plane.

That has to be the weirdest thing to have a phobia of!
I can't sleep now that I know there are people who don't report hedgehogs on planes.
