By bet a woman would've been thanked - 07/05/2013 20:21 - United Kingdom - Redditch

Today, I was out jogging, when I saw a girl fall off her bike and start crying. I ran over to see if she was hurt. Apparently her neighbour thought I was trying to kidnap her, because he ran out with a baseball bat and threatened to beat me to death if I didn't get lost. FML

Awkward situation, but at least both of you only wanted to help the girl! Kudos to both!

I love it when the OP's name is something snarky like that.

Just being a good civilian. Look at Amanda Perry and the other victims in Cleveland. No big deal though it's in the past.

And yet, people criticize me for not helping people.

I guess i see where the neighbor was coming from, but perhaps if he had already been out there to help his neighbor he wouldn't have had to run out and attempt to defend her from a good samaritan

I hope you called the Police on his ass, threatening behaviours illegal and wtf what a ****!

A lot of people don't realize how overblown stranger danger is. Your kid has a statistically higher chance of being struck by lightning than being abducted or molested by a stranger. You should still be careful. But assuming a Situation like this is a rapist or pedophile right off the bat is paranoia.

Well you did what was right...that's the good thing...he didn't see everything..,

IN THE UK?????????? Should have been a Cricket bat.

No good deed goes unpunished... I have to agree that a girl would have been thanked

Don't count on it. I've lost count of how many times people have wrote about saving a kid, only to then be bitched (or even reported) by the kid's mummy for touching the said kid. The gender doesn't seem to matter.
