If you are outside painting the door would be closed. If u went back inside i would assume u went through the front door, arent garage buttons usually in the garage? And even if u had a side door into the garage and were going in the house through that way. Why would you open your garage door. Also like the other guy said, when it opens it shouldnt touch anything anyway and paint should not be dripping that much.
