Today, I was pitching at a fastpitch softball game. The other team chanted about the ball being too high and almost hitting the batter in the eye. After throwing the next pitch, the ball was savagely returned by the batter, straight into my eyes. FML

A face mask for pitching? It should be that way. But I have yet to see that one. And it did a fair amount of damage... broke the bones on that side of my face.

They do have face masks for pitching. I'll admit they are awkward, but they do have them.

67, if you where op you would know they make tons of masks for pitching and some of them can be less distracting then others.

I played for a community league. Pitchers don't wear facemasks there. You all don't have to believe I'm op. But I have the email to prove it.

they make face masks to prevent those kinds of things from happening.. i suggest investing in one..

not for pitchers probably just catchers. imagine if every player had to wear a mask it would be hard to play

Ouch!! I'm a fast pitch pitcher also and I can just imagine the pain! I've never been hit in the face from batter, but i've hit other places! Hope you heal fast!
