Today, I was scheduled for an interview at a local firm owned by two partners. The secretary told me to be there at around 12:00 to 12:30 pm, so I arrived at 12:15. The first boss told me off for being early, the other one yelled at me for being late. FML

Sounds like a delightful work environment. They're bitching at you even before you're on the payroll.

Ahh I know what happened. The secretary told you around 12 or 1230 but told the partners each at exactly one or the other. I SEE YOU WITCH

You should key the secretary's car for setting you up for failure. She should have given you set time instead of mushy time range. Stupid bitch *guards face*.

Oh, i see your regarding to a different FML. LOL

I saw it too, but you don't see anyone else making pointless comments about it do you?

Yelled at for being early? Thought that was a good thing..

Well generally being early is good but not too early because then that puts a strain on the interviewers because then they have to reschedule things because you came in too early. Of course being late is just going to look bad. But in OP situation... it was lose/lose

Why do they have to reschedule? Most people don't ask to go earlier just because thy arrived earlier. When I arrive for an interview, early of course, I let the secretary know I'm there and then I sit down to wait for my allotted time. I'm not putting any pressure on them, I'm just trying to make their lives easier. I honestly can't see how being more then 10 or 15 minutes early is a bad thing, I consider it to be thoughtful.

Why would you be yelled at for being early? That's just stupid on that one manager's part(an intelligent manager would commend you for being early). Also, the other manager is stupid for yelling at you for being "late" when you were there in the time frame they told you to arrive at. If there are managers there that hate people being punctual(early), then I would suggest finding a different place to work at. TL;DR version: the managers are stupid.

Ok these aren't "managers" these are bosses.. He said it was an interview for a firm that implies lawyers office which has a boss not a manager.. Managers are at McDonald's

29, a manager and a boss are the same thing. I honestly can't believe you said that. Who the **** do you think you are? You obviously don't know shit. So don't come on here and comment like you are better than everyone else. My dad works for a transformer plant and his official title contains the word manager. My husband works for the government designing computer websites and he has several people over him titled manager. Seriously, have you ever had a real job?

Maybe they just thought you were so beautiful that you'd be a distraction to your coworkers.
