Today, I was scheduled for an interview at a local firm owned by two partners. The secretary told me to be there at around 12:00 to 12:30 pm, so I arrived at 12:15. The first boss told me off for being early, the other one yelled at me for being late. FML

Sounds like a delightful work environment. They're bitching at you even before you're on the payroll.

Should have been there at 12:00 in my opinion, it makes a good impressoin to be early in most cases... It's bette to be told off for being early than for being late any day of the week.

Really, to be totally logical, you should have got there at 11:45, because then you're late for neither and being early is no bad thing. You can just offer to come back at a more reasonable time...

Yup u probably don't want to work there

They are just testing your reaction and ability to keep your composure. It was good cop bad cop deal. Question is how did you react?

I don't think I'd care to work for a company that gave "tests" like this to which there is no correct answer. If it wasn't a test, and both of them were genuinely angry at you, then that says even worse things about the work environment and I wouldn't care to work there either. OP, you dodged a bullet.

So... who's the good cop? The one who told her off or the one who yelled at her?

Go to work for yourself! Best thing I ever did!

You should have showed up at 11:45 AM. That way, you'd have Mr. Early in your corner. My splitting the difference, you pissed off both Mr. Early and Mr. Late. You've got to have one champion.

You should always ask what time exactly! 12:00 to 12:30 doesn't cut it. They should have been yelling at their pea-brained secretary.

Did this interview take place in Wonderland, perchance?
