Today, I was selling cookie dough for a fund raiser at an old folks home. One lady ordered a box and told me that she loved cookie dough. I told her it'd be here in 4 weeks, she said "Oh I can't wait!". Not really thinking, as I left I said, "I hope you can make it till then!". FML

That's horrible. :/ PS - why does an order of cookie dough take 4 weeks? o_O

I don't really get how this is a FML. It just sounds like you're an insensitive jerk.

#3 + #9 "Hope you can make it until then" is an expression for when someone really wants something that won't be here for a while. It's not saying "I hope you don't die before they get here", it's saying "I hope you can contain your excitement until then".

She should have answered "I hope YOU can make it till then!" and then go into an evil laugh bwaaaahahahahahahah! >:)

What were you doing selling cookie dough at an old folks' home? None of the rest homes I've ever been in had ovens in the rooms. Or are you trying to give the elderly people food poisoning?

Aw why are people being mean to the op. Its an actual saying that they realized giving the situation, taken out of context is not exactly the nicest thing to say. If they said this to like a 30 year old the thought wouldn't cross op's mind....I'm sure they didn't mean "I hope you live 4 more weeks you old bag"

YDI but it's still funny. This person obviously didn't have bad intentions. Lighten up, guys.

You sell people uncooked cookie dough? They have to make the actual cookies themselves? As an Englishman, to me this seems... bizarre.

That's not really even an FML.. You're just a douchebag.
