annababyyyy tells us more.
Hi! Op here, I've been a loyal fml user for 4 years now and I can't believe this got posted! Let me just clear some things up: The lecture was part of my summer camp - not college. I'm 16. I wasn't taking notes because it was summer camp. I wish I pretended it wasn't me, but I was so in shock I couldn't think straight!! Even the lecturer stared at me My friends where there and laughed hysterically, and I quickly explained what happened. I am capable of laughing at myself, so it wasn't that bad. as for all the fish puns- keep um coming!!

Don't you fish you hadn't done that?
The First Fish Fart ever
Probably the people were bored too and wanted you to do more of those, lol.
Even the lecturer?
You should have started speaking whale. Just to mKe them aware of how bored you were
As a lecturer, I hate when people idly start amusing themselves in an obviously noticeable way. It makes it quite difficult to concentrate on giving a lecture and, in worse cases, also distracts others. Also, as higher education is very expensive, I just don't see the point in wasting your own or your parents' money on being bored. Yes, lecturers should aim to make their talks interesting, but quite often it's just a case of students not bothering to pay attention.
exactly, I never really got bored in lectures because I studying a subject I loved, if it's a subject you love you should not get bored
#22 to be honest sometimes a subject you love can have those sections that just aren't that interesting. However, I always try to at least look interested. There are those people that fall asleep or go on their cellphones right in front of the lecturer.
Yeah I'm stuck in a lecture right now that is, "go home read chapters 10, 11, 12." Then he talks about those chapters in class. I will amuse myself however I see fit. Until he finds an interesting way to teach.
It's not like I was sleeping or texting. If lecturers are offended by students getting bored, they should try to spend a little extra time and creativity on making the lesson interesting, engaging and unconventional. Not just them jabbering on and showing power. Point slides.
Just smile and wave OP, smile and wave.
Take notes...lectures are boring but note taking is a good asset...or just be a bit more carful with your faces
Very true. Not to mention, writing it down while you're hearing it is an excellent way to remember it, so you won't need to study as much outside of class. Plus, if you are taking notes, you can easily start doodling on your notebook if the lecturer hits a particularly boring section or is going over something you already understand.
you should standup and take a bow and greet them again...
