Today, I was stuck in what I thought was traffic on my way home from work. I started weaving in and out of traffic because it seemed to only be a few cars holding up the line. I get to the front of the line and I'd realized I just weaved through a funeral procession. FML

I don't understand how driving absurdly slowly honors someone or their death. It's a practice I've always found to be completely strange.

Easy to do depending. Looking at some of the comments they're dealt with differently in different places. Around here - there's no stickers, no hazards.. just expected to guess I think.. or look for a hearse at the front of a line of cars ;)

its alctually legal in some states, I think either Texas or Cali are one of them.

Yeah it's not illegal here in Texas and funeral processions aren't even marked here unless they are really large or for someone important or young it seems like. I've never been behind any but have passed them on the other side of the road. You are just suppose to pull over out of respect.

Seriously, I'm going to put into my Last Wishes, please do NOT screw up traffic for everyone with a pointless procession. Just cremate me and speed my ashes home or wherever. **** slow-ass funeral processions. I was once stuck pulled over while a procession took--no lie--20 minutes to go by!! Sitting in a stopped car with places to go, 20 minutes is an eternity, especially when it's completely pointless. I doubt the dead guy minds if I make it to work on time!

Yeah, in Missouri, they have police escort them sometimes... On another note, there was a funeral procession coming the opposite way once and some guy crashed into one of the cars in the procession. They were going through a red light escorted by police and I guess he thought he'd get paid by insurance or something..
