sabbydutchgirl tells us more.
First of all, I am 19. I don't have my license because I have nobody at home who will take me driving. My dad works 3 jobs and my mom doesn't want me to leave and move out. Secondly, my 6 dates are between 2 guys. For the first guy, we'd set a date, he wouldn't show, and then we'd chat and THEN he'd give me some excuse. After 2 missed dates I let 2 months go by and we'd try again. For the second guy, he had legit excuses for missing and understandably explained them to me later. He at least apologized for missing. But still, 6 dates planned this summer and not one of them happened and I was completely in the dark when it came time for them to show up. I take full blame for allowing myself to think that maybe they'd show next time. When trapped at home, any chance to get out is reason for hope, even if its with a jerk. I'm also sorry to disappoint some of you, but I'm neither a HO nor a ****. I'm just a very foolish, lonely person.

if you don't have your license yet, then you are probably younger than 16. and if you are younger than 16 and going out on dates with 6 different guys, then you deserve it for none of them to show up, ****!
Not necessarily, in Jersey you have to be 17 and can't drive others around until 18. But 6 dates that didn't pick you up? What are you doing wrong?
Assuming the realization that people don't always feel comfortable in getting their license early hasn't occurred to you, that was still a stupid comment. Whether she's sixteen or older has no impact on her dating. Perhaps what they do on the date, but not whether she goes on dates or how many, barring parental restrictions on minors.
if you're not 16 yet and can't get a license, then i wouldn't worry too much about not getting a date- you're young and have plenty of time. if you're over 16 and old enough to get a license yourself- then go do that shit, otherwise- don't complain.
Damn. Stood up six times? Clearly there's a problem somewhere. FYL, kid. FYL indeed.
If he didn't show up and also didn't bother to call or text - I don't think its your lack of license that caused this to happen. Still, sounds pretty sad, FYL.
guess you've been giving them the wrong adress and to the people telling you to get license otherwise you are nothing - think twice, okey? driving car is not the most important thing ever
were they drunk when they asked you? cuz they could have just forgotten
if the same guy stood you up 5 times.... ? why bother now if this was 5 different guys maybe it's time to start looking at what attracts you in a man and consider if those qualities are actually healthy for you
Oh lorrdddd you most be bunnn

Sabs, I'm so sorry. You're going to have to stay over more often so I can let you drive the car rather than the van. You'll find someone eventually. So, want to take classes at main in the spring? It should widen your options. And, for everyone else. I can think of nothing more than Sab wants more than to get her liscense, a job, and the hell out. But, she is the baby of the family and the only girl and her mom can be a lot on the controlling side. I know all about it. I'm married to her brother.
im so sorry you had to go through that :(
