Today, I was told that the $500 I'm owed for babysitting isn't going to happen. Why? Because after six months of watching a friend's six children, she's moved 120 miles away and no longer needs me. FML

Hey guys, OP here. After reading some of the comments I can see there is a bit of confusion. The babysitting thing was a great gig at the start. She was paying me $200/week. What had happened was she hurt her back and couldn't work but had to go to multiple dr appointments there after. I was wanting to take a CNA course that cost $500. So we agreed she would pay for the class if I continued to watch the kids during her appointments. I held up my end she didn't.

No excuses, go "no country for old men" on their asses and hunt 'em down.

You waited 6 months to be payed, after watching 6 kids... And you're only getting $500? It kind of sounds like YDI

Take them to court. They owe you, you deserve to be paid.

So much for friend..wow I'm sorry that sucks :/

I say you deserved it only because you shouldn't have put yourself in this situation. Demanding payment upfront or at least in portions so they couldn't run off on it. Also, if they're a "friend" you should make sure to get your money. Contact mutual friends, their family members, etc. Not acceptable. Good luck!

And this is when you sue her for your money, make it happen!

I used to babysit a little boy. His mom went out and constantly partied. I would babysit for like 10+ hours and get $100 or more. The only problem with this arrangement was it was usually starting at 5 or 6 pm and id go home around 2-5am with school the next day.
