Heh, I hear you - been doing the lights myself for a few years and it's very critical that you get everything right and horrible if you get anything wrong lol.
Well, at least it was probably more interesting than a regular boring love scene ;)
How do you mix up fading instruments to 0% with turning a bunch more on?
Tech is tough. You get blamed for everything that goes wrong but don't get any credit for everything that's right. On the other hand, that's pretty ******* awesome
I love these comments.
The two characters realize they are in love and FLASH RAVE!! Unce unce unce unce
I'd get up and start dancing(x DISCO PARTY :D unce unce unce(x And @bloodthorn, stop being a troll. Seriously, I've seen you on many different posts before and you're comments are so.. well, TROLL-ISH. If thats a word..(:
Everyone looked at you? I thought uninportant roles like lighting were BACKSTAGE. May just be my lack of theater knoledge, but...
A lot of theatres have a booth in the back of the audience for lighting and sound, because a lot of those cues are pretty precise and the techies really need to be watching the play to get it right. As for the OP, pressing the wrong preset button is so awful. That sucks, man.
Excuse me? Unimportant? Without techies actors would be mimes in the dark.
How would one mess lights up that badly? Even high school productions have the shows in entire light queues, a lot of running lights during a show is pressing 'Go.'
Actually, Lighting is one of the most important jobs in the Theatre world. Not only does it allow the actors to be seen, it complements the mood. It shows the setting (i.e. time of day, where, etc.). Different color choices can be used to help show the mood. Since lighting is such a visual art it must be positioned in the theatre. Sound is also often positioned in the tech booth in the theatre. Finally, please do not think of the crew as unimportant. They put a tremendous amount of time and effort into making the show as good as possible for the audience. They support the actors by providing a set. They allow people to see and hear the actors. They perform special effects. Next time you go to a show look at the set, the lights, the special effects and think about how much time goes into that. Thank you!
Man, that would have been so much more awesome if the actors had just played it off like it was supposed to happen.
