Today, I was working the lighting for a drama production. In the last scene, two characters realize they are in love and kiss, then the stage goes dark. I mixed up my settings, and instead of a blackout, flashing party lights started going off. 300 people turn around to stare at me. FML

That sucks, but it's also like really funny. DANCE PARTYYY!!!

Don't you hate it when the console misplaces buttons on you? I know an Expression 3 that likes to do this...

If you are reading this, I want you to know that I have never been more proud of gv crew's party que infatuation.. Simba :D Hahahahahahah (p.s. If this ever happens under my stage manager reign, I will not hesitate to cheerfully beat you to death with a 2x4. lol)

NO PDA NO PDA *sirens and flashing lights* P - Public D - Display of A - Affection

I don't have that problem :D my Light board has a blackout button. The biggest mistake I've made is constantly spotlighting to the left of the character I've meant to be doing :P

Shit happens, I have done similar on opening night but with a blackout cue right in the middle of a song. Digital lighting consoles - waste of time

At least you could say you were just highlighting the moment or something... One show I did: we open after intermission in a blackout, and I'm supposed to bring up a spotlight center stage on the lead male so that he can do this long monologue while the rest of the cast take their places in the dark. Normally, my eyes were adjusted enough that I could see if he was in place - and failing that, someone was on com backstage. The stage manager was distracted and hadn't put her headset back on after going to the washroom and I had neglected to close my eyes as I went into blackout, so my eyes didn't adjust properly. So, figuring he should be in place eventhough the stage is still black to my eyes (I couldn't even see the set because of my stupidity), I bring up the spotlight... and no one's there. A few seconds later, he runs onstage with his tie half tied and spends about three seconds trying to get his wireless mic positioned properly. The worst part was that he was a crew member when he wasn't the lead... and we all knew he could fill that small auditorium no problem if he had to.

just say u did it on purpose and youll be awesome
