Today, I went into hysterics and started crying when my boyfriend pulled out a Tiffany's box at dinner. Then I found out he'd used the old box to make the $15 earrings he bought seem more "special." FML

I'm sorry your boyfriend fulled a romantic gesture and you're being a bitch crying about it on FML, OP.

Does price really matter?? At least he got you something

Am I the only one who got the impression that the "old Tiffany's box" was from a previous Tiffany's gift he gave her and he has just re-used the same box? If that was the case- I bet Op was ungrateful at his first gift so he just figured if she was ungrateful again it only cost him $15... Well at least something along those lines... OR she demanded something from Tiffany's and he couldn't afford it or he thought they were a rip off and underestimated a woman's ability to spot a fake.

Would you like some cheese and crackers to go with that whine?

As long as it's the good stuff. None of this $15 bullshit. ;)

And you're complaining why? Be thankful you have a truly romantic man ffs

It's the thought that counts so don't bitch! But honestly, atleasst he got you something, he made an effort, this makes you seem ungrateful

lol I had to read this 4 times to get it.

Seriously, OP is upset that she got earrings in a box from a place called "Tiffany's." (yes i know what the store is, but i don't really care about their products) When my fiance and i got my engagement ring, he bought a used ring that i love, but it didn't come with a box from Kay's. If she really loved the idea of the box more than the fact that he thought about her and bought her something he thought she would like and put it in a nice box then let her adore the box. Just like a toddler who gets a nice gift they don't know what to do with but enjoy playing in the box more than with the toy.

It's like buying anything that has been wrapped in bubble wrap

How did he get the box without buying something from there. Perhaps he has given you something from there before and you are being a terrible little c word about the whole situation

Sorry that it seemed like a ring OP. The gesture on his half was really nice. Next time try to keep your cool until he's on bended knee or something.

Isn't the thought that counts? I don't understand why some girls start crying when they see anything pricy. U shouldnt be shallow and be happy that he was thinking of you, even if it was just $15.
