Today, I went out and made build-a-bears that looked like my daughter and her new boyfriend. It turns out she had been insisting that I didn't for a good reason; upon sight of his, her boyfriend screamed and fled the house. Turns out he was nearly mauled to death by a bear. FML

Why would you continue with a gift idea when someone is telling you not to? Granted, you could not have known the bear mauling bit. However, you seem like one of those annoying gift givers that buy things according to what YOU think a person should have.

Your daughter is old enough to have a boyfriend and you made them both build a bears? Way to freak her boyfriend out no wonder he ran you really need to get a life

What I don't get is why did YOU make build-a-bears for a new couple several years younger than you? It would be find if they made the bears themselves as a couple, but why would you make them?

The mom sounds intense. If my kid told me they didn't want something corny like that, I wouldn't waste the money.

You seem like the type of person who does not listen to their children. Just because you think it would "be cute" does not mean you discount what your daughter says about HER relationship. Here is a lesson for life, your daughter's relationship, future children, future husband, ect, should always be respected as hers. If she tells you her boyfriend would not like something, respect that. Learn this now before you get into fights when she finally has kids and tells you not to buy them X, and you do anyways.

I'm sorry, but YDI. You should've asked why she didn't want the bears instead of just going ahead and making them anyways. It is a cute idea, but only if you as a couple are into that sort of thing.
